I went round and round with myself on what to post today. Guess I worked a little too hard and can't seem to get the creative juices flowing. It's been a while since I have posted any paper, so here are a couple of eri-doodle digital scrapbooking paper freebies. Top is a type of blue diamonds and paper on the bottom is swirls or flourishes but reminds me of water. Yours for the taking if you right mouse click and save image as. They are both 12 X 12

Traditional Christmas Lights
String up the scrapbook Christmas lights
How quickly the holiday season came and went. Didn't even have a chance to put up any Christmas lights, but from the looks of it, others didn't seem to either. Can't use the excuse that the weather was awful this year as it's has been beautiful out. At least I can offer some lights to download. These traditional light are in yellow, blue, red, green and the hard to find in clipart orange. Use them in digital scrapbook pages or be brave enough and cut them out. I often will place an image on a background I wish to use, then print it. These are great as they are large enough to span a full 12 X 12 page. I'm am quite sure you haven't finished your Christmas pages just yet.Saturday, December 24, 2011

Make a paper Christmas Flower
Paper Poinsettia Flower
Thought I would try my hand at designing a paper poinsettia. I think my results came out quite well. I used the eri-doodle poinsettia template I have included on this blog for free and cut it out of red and green vellum. I creased each petal and leaf down the center. Cut a small slit in center and secured the petals with a brad. Next I spritzed the flower with with my homemade counterfeit glimmer mist. (Check earlier blog for recipe) This made the paper curl a bit giving it a more natural look. Finished it by gluing three yellow beads to center. I didn't actually have yellow beads in my stock, but I did have white pearl color ones that I colored with a yellow Sharpie.
Right mouse click, "save image as" to download this free eri*doodle poinsettia for your crafts and scrapbooking.
If you would rather have the cutter file in KNK or SVG, it's available for $2.99. It's much easier using a cutter for this project. I will email you the file.

The Christmas present challenge game
The Christmas present challenge game
I have been busy trying to catch up with Christmas, I didn't have a chance to create new art. Wanted to give everyone something on the blog so here is a fun game to play at a Christmas party or on Christmas day with the family.Materials:
- 1 Pair oven mitts
- 1 Santa Hat
- 1 Scarf
- 1 Die (use two for large group)
- 1 Baking pan to roll dice in.
- A small prize wrapped in a succession of larger boxes each sealed with duct tape to make more difficult to open. The more boxes and tape the better.
For large boxes, add packing peanuts or newspaper.
The group stands in a circle. The oven mitts, hat, scarf and wrapped box are placed in the center.
Someone begins by rolling the dice. If a six is rolled, they hurry into the middle and put on the oven mitts, scarf and hat then proceed to unwrap the package. Move fast because the next person to roll a six takes the hat off of the person in the center. The person in the center stops immediately and takes off the oven mitts and scarf, gives them to that person and goes back to their spot in the circle. The game continues until the package is completely unwrapped. The last person receives the prize.

A family of doodlers
I come a family of doodlers.
While going thru some old photos and such at my parents home, I came across this great find. It is one of my mothers doodles of flowers on the back of a card envelope. I vaguely remember her drawing this when I was about 4 years old. I have fond memories of watching my mothers attempt at oil painting. The paintings being long gone now. Upon finding this, I quickly snatched it up and admired it before scanning it along with the mounds of old photos.Thinking about how to use this in scrapbooking, I've decided to create a page of my mothers many talents maybe with a Victorian motif.
You can have this free wonderful now eri*doodle image. Right mouse click and save image as.
