Kiss Under the Mistletoe

Why do we kiss when we're standing underneath some shrubbery? It is believed that a couple kissing under the mistletoe ensure themselves of marriage and a long, happy life.
The correct mistletoe etiquette is for the man to remove one berry when he kisses a woman. When all the berries are gone, there's no more kissing permitted underneath that plant.

The greenery cutter file nursery

Do digital green thumbs count?  My desktop looks like a greenery nursery with all the cutter files I am designing for the eri-doodle blog. This pine branch is available as a SVG cutter file and can be re-sized without losing quality.

Everyone needs a little green... branch

I just love the versatility branches offer to a layout. This SVG juniper branch was a "must create". Over the next week I will be offering more varieties to pile on for a gorgeous greenery spray. With an SVG you can resize and combine for interest.

A horse story

I'm sure you noticed the horse on yesterday's name banner blog. There is a bit of a story on it. See, I was looking for supplies to make some other party decor and I came across these horse die cuts. I snatched them up not thinking about how I would use them much less how I would create something to resemble a horse. As soon as I got home, I Google'd them hoping to get some ideas on how others used them.  There wasn't one to be found. You would think the manufacturer would at least create samples. My impulse buying gave me two options, figure out what to do with them or take them back. Determined, I searched in the internet studying horses. Here are my results flipped and I changed up the mane.

Easy to make name banner

Easy to make name banner

Every child likes to see their name. I was working on some party stuff for my niece and decided to make her a name banner also.
These can be made from paper, fabric or felt.
First, I created an eri*doodle scalloped cutter file, which you can buy here for .99

Using my cutter, cut the scalloped square out of felt. The wall-mart thin felt worked, but stiffened felt would be better.

Next I cut 2 bandanas into squares 1 inch smaller than scalloped square then cut them down further using pinking shears then sewed each square using a zigzag stitch leaving raw edge exposed.

Next I again used my cutter and cut vinyl letters out and burnished them down for good contact. I also added horses at ends to match her theme. These are simple, but you can add as much as you can dream up.

In the top corners, I folded them in half and cut a slit slightly larger than ribbon. Threaded ribbon through and tied a loose bow.  At the ends, I tied a knot to create a loop for hanging.

Every boy needs a rocket ship

My focus has been so girl oriented, I thought it was time to add in some boy stuff. This little eri*doodle rocket would be so adorable on a baby boy / newborn page, card or craft. You can jazz it up with other colors and make it a big boy rocket. Both images are free to download. One to right is a template if you didn't figure that out.
