The Christmas title

Christmas title

Working on unrelated custom work, I had an urge to draw this Christmas title. Since I work as I am inspired, out came the pencils. Then sketched the draft, made a digital version and started working on creating a svg cutter file. Once I cut the file, it was begging for glitter.

The cutter file is available for sale for $2.00 and the digital image above is free for my digital scrapbooking friends. Cutter file is in svg and will not have the dots in the letters so that it can be reduce to a smaller size. You can always add these in if you like them.

ON SALE NOW or $1.25

Kiss Under the Mistletoe

Why do we kiss when we're standing underneath some shrubbery? It is believed that a couple kissing under the mistletoe ensure themselves of marriage and a long, happy life.
The correct mistletoe etiquette is for the man to remove one berry when he kisses a woman. When all the berries are gone, there's no more kissing permitted underneath that plant.

Have a holly, jolly Christmas

Have a holly, jolly Christmas;
And when you
walk down the street
Say hello to
friends you know
And everyone you meet

What better way than to make a card using this layered holly branch.

It's intended to be cut in two reds for berries to be layered using pop dots for dimension,  brown for steam, green for leaves, which I think will look nicer with added a crease or chalk for center steam of leaf. Maybe add a glitter to sparkle it up. Those are my thoughts and ideas anyways.

This SVG cutter file for $3.50. File will be sent via email.

ON SALE $1.50

If you want to use this in digital scrapbooking, get it for free-  right mouse click on image and save as. Please note this particular image does not have a transparent background.

Make a paper Christmas Flower

paper poinsettia christmas flower

paper poinsettia christmas flower free download templatePaper Poinsettia Flower

Thought I would try my hand at designing a paper poinsettia. I think my results came out quite well. I used the eri-doodle poinsettia template I have included on this blog for free and cut it out of red and green vellum. I creased each petal and leaf down the center. Cut a small slit in center and secured the petals with a brad. Next I spritzed the flower with with my homemade counterfeit glimmer mist. (Check earlier blog for recipe) This made the paper curl a bit giving it a more natural look. Finished it by gluing three yellow beads to center. I didn't actually have yellow beads in my stock, but I did have white pearl color ones that I colored with a yellow Sharpie.
Right mouse click, "save image as" to download this free eri*doodle poinsettia for your crafts and scrapbooking.

If you would rather have the cutter file in KNK or SVG, it's available for $2.99. It's much easier using a cutter for this project. I will email you the file.

A horse story

Paper shaped Horse from Hobby Lobbyclip art or digital art of children's horse free downloadpaper shaped horse from Hobby Lobby made into a paper piecing for scrapbooking or craftI'm sure you noticed the horse on yesterday's name banner blog. There is a bit of a story on it. See, I was looking for supplies to make some other party decor and I came across these horse die cuts. I snatched them up not thinking about how I would use them much less how I would create something to resemble a horse. As soon as I got home, I Google'd them hoping to get some ideas on how others used them.  There wasn't one to be found. You would think the manufacturer would at least create samples. My impulse buying gave me two options, figure out what to do with them or take them back. Determined, I searched in the internet studying horses. Here are my results flipped and I changed up the mane.

Right mouse click and save image as to download the FREE eri*doodle high res image. (white background)

If you are interested in the cutter file, shoot me an email and I will send it to you for free. knk or svg email eridoodle here

Easy to make name banner

birthday or baby room banner with childs name scallopedEasy to make name banner

Every child likes to see their name. I was working on some party stuff for my niece and decided to make her a name banner also.
These can be made from paper, fabric or felt.
First, I created an eri*doodle scalloped cutter file, which you can buy here for .99

scalloped felt cut out 9 inches

letters for banner cut on cutter cricutUsing my cutter, cut the scalloped square out of felt. The wall-mart thin felt worked, but stiffened felt would be better.

Next I cut 2 bandanas into squares 1 inch smaller than scalloped square then cut them down further using pinking shears then sewed each square using a zigzag stitch leaving raw edge exposed.

clip cornerNext I again used my cutter and cut vinyl letters out and burnished them down for good contact. I also added horses at ends to match her theme. These are simple, but you can add as much as you can dream up.

In the top corners, I folded them in half and cut a slit slightly larger than ribbon. Threaded ribbon through and tied a loose bow.  At the ends, I tied a knot to create a loop for hanging.
How adorable would this be in a baby room?
